Steam traps – Volume 1 – Operating principles and energy cost. The first of a set of four technical books that deal with different subjects in a synthetic way. Through these publications, the reader learns about many aspects of this component and acquires the methodology to evaluate and compare the strategic decisions for their management and maintenance.
Volume 1 – Operating principles and energy cost
Steam traps are valves placed along steam pipes or machineries that transport or use gaseous fluids of different kinds (air, steam and other gases); the function of steam traps is to automatically remove the possible presence of liquids (condensate) generated within the lines/machineries, but without causing any gas leakage.
This book deals with the issues related to this type of components and comes from the direct experience that the authors have gained during the years working with the major Italian industries.
